Note from Sue Drumheller – “Care”

“Please advise me of anyone in the Guild that may be sick, or any closely related deaths in our Guild families. I have plenty of cards and stamps and would love to send our best wishes/sympathy to our Guild family. Just e-mail me at sd222@cox.net or telephone me at 695-3081 and give me the information. I check all messages. Thanks…Sue – Care”

President’s Message

I hope that everyone is enjoying the cooler weather. And the rain… We will be meeting in our meeting place this month: St Paul's United Methodist Church: 525 Beech Street.  The doors to the fellowship hall are on Orange Street between North 5th and North 6th.  There is parking on the back of the Elliot Hammil Funeral Home lot. Please try to be there for the meeting.

The fair will also be starting in September. If you have entries for that, be sure and get them to the correct departments.

See you at the meeting.

Glenda

OH NO...NOT ALREADY?

Beverly Lynn and I would appreciate the assistance of all our members in publicizing our quilt show this coming June. Here are just a couple of ways we need your help now:

1. If you are going to any quilt show (know Wichita Falls and Fort Worth will soon occur), would you please be our messenger and take flyers for them to display at their quilt show.

2. Please look at all the sewing/home & garden/quilting/etc magazines that you get and if they have a quilt show listing or travel guide, would you please give us the name of the magazine, their e-mail (if available) and mailing address. We have to send our quilt show information to them very early – sometimes as early as October.

Please don’t assume that someone else has already given information to us...if everyone does that, we won’t get any information.

You can call or e-mail either of us:

Judy Luther 325-698-2301 or hotrodquilts@yahoo.com

Beverly Lynn 325-690-1632 or cbnlynn@aol.com

Thank you so much for your help – we want this to be the best show ever and your kindness in helping will make all the difference! - Judy

New Website

The Abilene Quilter’s Guild now has a web site. It  can be seen at www.abilenequiltguild.org. Gina Reddin is our designer. You can EMAIL her for suggestions or questions. We plan to include such things as our newsletter, quilt show information, and other information for our members and other interested Quilters.

Quick Trick Books

We plan to have the books Quick Tricks & More Quick Quilt Tricks at the August meeting for the people who ordered them at the last meeting. The cost of the books will only be $10 each. We had thought it would be as much as $15, but were able to get them wholesale. We will have a few extra copies of each book available for sale. We can reorder more if necessary.

Quilter’s Classifieds

Two of our members have websites where they sell goodies.

Kathryn Rister:  http://www.quiltkitsandquarters.com

Gina Reddin:  http://www.splintersandthreads.net

If any of you have quilting related items to buy, sell, or trade, let us know and they will be included. This could also be a good place to list needed fabrics, patterns etc.

There are a couple of months open for the Redwork swap. Check with Jean at the project table for availability.

Hope Haven

Food, grooming and household items are always welcome. There will be some special projects for them for the holidays.

“ Quilters never cut corners.”
